"My astrologer, Moonrabbit, has known my husband and I since we first did a compatibility consultation with her 17 years ago. At that time she predicted major changes in both our lives, but said we had sufficient romance and communication to maintain stability between us. All of that has proven to be true. She also told me then that I would be working with a lot of children, which at the time seemed impossible. Now I am employed with a school district and work with a lot of children! Every few years we request a general forecast from her, and her accuracy has been virtually 100%, even when we doubt her! My husband scoffs at astrology in general, but even he acknowledges that Moon has a unique talent for integrating astrology with her understanding of people to yield highly accurate and helpful readings." –C.J. in Boulder, CO Newsletter Archive |
Newsletter – July 2009 Hello Everyone! It's a wild and crazy time between eclipses. The month of July and the first week of August contain three of them, two Lunar eclipses blanketing one Solar eclipse. Happening on July 22nd at 29 degrees of Cancer and lasting over six minutes (the longer eclipses are considered more intense) this Solar Eclipse is a major astrological event. The 29th degree of any sign is very important, because as zodiac signs move forward in degrees they become more intense. The idea is, for example, an individual born at the 15 degree of Cancer will have a great deal of the characteristics associated with the sign, emotional, sensitive, moody, and nuturing, but another Cancer born at the 29th degree will have the same characteristics, only far more intensely. The 29th degree is also considered a 'cusp' or pathway into Leo. Cancer and Leo are ruled by the two luminaries the Moon and Sun respectively; they are polar opposites ruling night and day. Cancer and the Moon are associated with our inner emotional beings, our needs, motivations, and subconscious self; the self we are at home in private with our intimates. Then Sun is our outer, public self: our personality, character, conscious awareness and identity; who we are during our work day. So this eclipse is where inner and outer self meet, water and fire meet, where night and day meet, but just incrementally positioned in the emotional, feelings based sign of Cancer. Eclipses bring things out into the open; they expose or illuminate the shadow. They bring things to a head. Whatever the focus, it will usually be active for the next six months. This eclipse started activating in the end of June, early July. Most of us are already in emotional times. People are experiencing changes with their home and families, with property and land, with personal and public security issues. These areas of life are in high focus. The Lunar Eclipses are in Capricorn (July 7th) and Aquarius (August 6th). Because the Eclipse is on a cusp it actually is impacting eight of the twelve zodiac signs. If you have planets in the late degrees of a Cardinal signs, (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)or early degrees of a Fixed sign,(Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) this eclipse will have a big effect on you. My personal understanding of eclipses is they bring us more deeply into our destiny; the eclipses have been recorded in astronomy and astrology for an exceedingly long time. The events and experiences entering our lives under these eclipses were some of the first predictable astronomical events used by ancient Egyptian and Babylonian astrologers. They are indicators of major change. By September 2009 this effect is smoothing out and Saturn gets ready to enter Libra, bringing us a new chapter on understanding equality and working out relationships. More on that this fall.
