Newsletter – Fall 2008

My clients have been asking me "What in the world has been going on in the stars this last week?" Here is what I think. On August 16^th we had a Lunar Eclipse at 24 degrees of Aquarius, just three degrees from the Moon in the chart of the U.S. Eclipses correspond with crises and the Moon of one of the symbols for security, often financial but also emotional security. On September 12^th the Moon reached the same position of last month's eclipse along with Jupiter the planet of excess turning direct after four and a half months of retrograde, or backwards motion. Eclipses tend to bring problems that have been brewing for a long time out into the open, and Jupiter's direct motion implies the same.

The next question I hear is "When will this be over?" Over the next few months Saturn and Uranus are moving closer and closer to an exact opposition. Interestingly, on Election Day, they move into an exact opposition. The last time this happened was in the 60's, the time of Flower Power and you can't trust anyone over 30. Saturn is the planet of conservative, traditional and security while Uranus symbolizes radical change, uncertainty and sometimes chaos. How interesting it is that our Presidential race is taking on the symbolism of these two energies. In the case of the outer planets, the planet furthest from the Sun is the stronger; meaning that I see Obama becoming our next president and in fact initiating some profound changes. It looks like an extremely exciting and race to the finish election. In April and May of 2010 these two planets will make their final contact and the economy will become more resolved.

I was happy to look at the chart of Joseph Biden and Sarah Palin. Biden was born November 20 1942 and along with a Sun in Scorpio along with Mars, Mercury and Venus. His Moon is in Taurus and together this gives him immense persistence. On election day his chart show a major new beginning and a change of residence.

Sarah Palin was born February 11, 1964. She has many planets in Aquarius, particularly her Sun, Mars, Saturn conjunction. These planets align also with the Moon in the chart of the U.S. and explain in part her immediate 'popularity'. I think she will continue to be a figure in politics, but on November 4th 2008 her chart shows only disappointment.

I'm glad to report that my children are flourishing, my oldest in Junior High and my youngest in 3rd grade. All goes well in my home life and family.
